Northeast BC Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) – 2025 Update

Building Stronger Communities Through Regional Immigration

The Northeast BC Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) is a newly launched initiative aimed at supporting long-term workforce development and sustainable population growth across the region. This pilot program is part of a federal effort to distribute the benefits of economic immigration more evenly across Canada by enabling skilled international workers to gain permanent residency in smaller, rural communities.

🚀 What is the RCIP?

The RCIP is designed to address labour shortages in Northeast British Columbia by helping local employers connect with international talent. Through this initiative, eligible employers can support skilled foreign workers in obtaining permanent residency — ultimately helping to build a stronger, more resilient local economy.

Northeast BC is the newest addition in British Columbia under this federal pilot, joining other established communities such as North Okanagan and West Kootenay.
